Progress on the A1 Birtley to Coal House

Our team are making great progress on gantry piling package on the A1 Birtley to Coal House project for Costain Group PLC and National Highways.
Piles of up to 24m and diameters of 750mm and 900mm are being installed across 14 bases along the scheme with rock sockets up to 12m formed in the underlying sandstones and mudstones.
This package of works is part of a larger scope which includes permanent works sheet piling and bridge bearing piles, and a large range of geotechnical solutions for temporary works.
