SITE ENGINEERS

Salary Package: confirmed at interview

DAWSON-WAM Ltd has been active in Civil Engineering and Piling Contracting for over 50 years throughout the UK and Ireland.

Job Summary

We currently wish to recruit Site Engineers for various works in England.

Role Overview

To provide an effective and efficient site engineering role

What you'll do

The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

· Compliance with Health & Safety Regulations ensuring that all issues of Health & Safety are monitored regularly, and accurate records maintained

· Ensure efficient programme of works

· Responsibility for measurements and valuations

· Assume responsibility for setting out / dimensional control

· Ensure effective organisation of sections of work

· Maintain daily/weekly contact with Site Agent

· Assume responsibility for decision making in conjunction with Site Agent

· External contact with clients’ representatives

· External contact with sub-contractors

· Deputise for Site Agent if required

· Any other reasonable duties as required

About You

· Third level qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline

· Ability to successfully implement, maintain and ensure compliance of Health & Safety legislation

· Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally

· Commercially aware of economies and efficiencies

· Fully flexible regarding travel, prepared to travel to site locations within the UK

· Ability to read and understand Construction drawings and Specification

· IT literate in all Microsoft Office applications

Desirable:

· Relevant Piling / Highways / Rail or heavy Civil engineering experience (2+ years)

· Ability to Manage/Control on site setting out

· CSR/CSCS Qualification or equivalent

· Experience of using AutoCAD or other equivalent software

· Full valid driving licence

Skilled Operatives

Job Location: Required for various locations throughout Northern Ireland

Salary: Confirmed at interview

Closing Date for Applications: 31st May 2024

We currently wish to recruit a number of Skilled Operatives to fill vacancies throughout Northern Ireland.

Examples of Duties:

The following duties are not inclusive of all duties and the operative will perform other related duties as required.

  • Performs routine grounds and building work.
  • Operates hand and power tools.
  • May operate a company vehicle.
  • Engages in a wide variety of tasks, such as assisting in the maintenance and repair of water mains and services, sewer mains and services, cleaning roadside ditches, culverts, repairing street and pavements, grounds maintenance.
  • Performs other duties as required by designated supervisors.

Qualification Guidelines:

  • Previous experience of working on a construction site is essential.
  • Ideally applicant will have the relevant CSR card.

Plant Operators

Job Location: Required for various locations throughout Northern Ireland.

Salary: Confirmed at interview

Closing Date for Applications:  31st May 2024

We currently wish to recruit a number of Plant Operators to fill vacancies throughout Northern Ireland.

Examples of Duties:

  • Plant operators control and operate 360 tracked excavators for pipe laying. 
  • Mobile plant operators may perform the following tasks:prepare machines for operation, select, change and operate special attachments; work under the direction of supervisors and engineers; load and unload equipment from low loaders and move it around work sites; service equipment by cleaning, lubricating and re-fuelling it and make minor adjustments and repairs when necessary; maintain duty of care for other users and work to occupational health and safety requirements.

Qualification Guidelines

  • Experience on 360 Tracked Excavator.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s licence at the time of appointment and a driving record acceptable to the company.
  • Candidates should hold relevant CSR card.
