A major infrastructure project in the West Midlands is progressing well, with sheet piling works just complete, in what continues to be a busy 2026 for our piling teams.
Here our teams are installing over 1100 tonnes of 17m long ZZ40-700 sheet piles into challenging mudstone ground conditions. To achieve this, we deploying three ABI TM22 piling rigs working in tandem, a first time they have been used together like this.
Using a combination of Cased CFA pre-augering for precise soil loosening to depth and powerful ABI 36VV high frequency vibro hammers, we’ve been able to install all piles to design depth without the need for impact driving. This approach not only improves efficiency but also reduces noise and vibration on site.
