At DAWSON WAM, we’re continually looking for ways to reduce waste and improve sustainability across our projects.
Over the past year, we have successfully developed and trialled a new Secant Guidewall Former System designed to eliminate the need for traditional single use polystyrene formers.
Our solution uses biodegradable wax dipped cardboard tubes manufactured from recycled materials to create the required scalloped profile between secant piles. The tubes are simply slotted together and can then be filled with suitable site won material before the guidewall is constructed in the normal manner.
Following successful trials on a number of secant wall projects, the system has demonstrated excellent performance across pile diameters ranging from 450mm to 900mm.
Key benefits include:
– Eliminates single-use polystyrene waste
– Manufactured from recycled materials
– Biodegradable solution
– Utilises site won fill material or recycled aggregate
– Simple installation process
– Proven on multiple projects over the last 12 months
This innovation is another step towards reducing the environmental impact of specialist foundation works while maintaining the high standards of quality and performance our clients expect.
