Successful completion of works at Campbeltown Old Quay

10th September 2026

We’re delighted to share the successful completion of works at Campbeltown Old Quay, following the delivery of this major marine infrastructure project for Argyll and Bute Council.

Appointed in 2024, DAWSON WAM has delivered the design and construction of a new 100m-long sheet-piled quay wall, replacing the historic Wall A and helping secure the future of this important harbour asset.

The project also involved dredging approximately 30,000m³ of harbour material to create an improved berth and access channel. The completed scheme is expected to extend the life of the quay by approximately 120 years, while providing a new deeper-water berth for commercial, fishing and leisure vessels.

Delivering complex piling, anchoring, dredging and civil engineering works within a live harbour at the heart of Campbeltown required careful planning, innovative temporary works and close collaboration at every stage.

A huge thank you to Argyll and Bute Council, McFadyens Contractors (Campbeltown) Ltd, FOYLE AND MARINE DREDGING LIMITED, our wider supply-chain partners, the local community and, most importantly, everyone in the DAWSON WAM team who contributed to the successful delivery of the project.

Great work by everyone involved.
