PLANT OPERATORS

Job Location: Required for various locations throughout Northern Ireland, including the Greater Belfast area.

We currently wish to recruit a number of Plant Operators to fill vacancies throughout Northern Ireland.

Plant operators control and operate 360 tracked excavators for pipe laying.  Mobile plant operators may perform the following tasks: prepare machines for operation, select, change and operate special attachments; work under the direction of supervisors and engineers; load and unload equipment from low loaders and move it around work sites; service equipment by cleaning, lubricating and re-fuelling it and make minor adjustments and repairs when necessary; maintain duty of care for other users and work to occupational health and safety requirements.

Experience on 360 Tracked Excavator. Possession of a valid driver’s licence at the time of appointment and a driving record acceptable to the company. Candidates should hold relevant CSR card.

SITE AGENT / SECTIONAL ENGINEER 


An opportunity has arisen for a Site Agent / Section Engineer for an upcoming Framework contract. The individual will be responsible for overseeing all activities and staff to ensure that procurement, financial control and site activities are managed to the highest standards in all areas of delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the commercial performance of the contract is maximised
  • Assume overall responsibility for the successful delivery of projects
  • Deliver the work safely and without environmental incidents
  • Deliver the work to the specified quality without defects
  • Ensure production and implementation of Project Plans and waste management plans, in line with Company procedures
  • Produce and manage the project programme 
  • Undertake an ambassadorial role representing the business to customers, public and official bodies
  • Deliver end product to customer satisfaction
  • Maximise project value
  • Ensure detailed site diaries/records are completed
  • Endeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunities
  • Produce good quality, accurate monthly reports for the Client and internally
  • Monthly and weekly reporting timescales are met

 
Person Specification:
The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent:
  • At least 3 years experience in Civil Engineering
  • Working knowledge of NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management,Programme and Risk Management and cost control including forecasting, actual cost andvalue reporting
  • Good knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to general civil engineering
  • CSR card

Performs routine grounds and building work. Operates hand and power tools. May operate a company vehicle. Engages in a wide variety of tasks, such as assisting in the maintenance and repair of water mains and services, sewer mains and services, cleaning roadside ditches, culverts, repairing street and pavements, grounds maintenance. Performs other duties as required by designated supervisors.

PILING SITE ENGINEERS & PILING CONTRACT MANAGERS

Job Location: Based in our Bedforshire Office with works throughout the UK

Due to ongoing expansion, superb opportunities have arisen for, an experienced Piling Site Engineers and a Piling Contracts Manager to join the company. The role is to provide additional effective and efficient site/contract management input to our Cased CFA and Sheet Piling sites. 

The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive;

  • Work with and report directly to the Contracts Director/Manager in charge.
  • Work with site teams, clients, supplier and subcontractors to achieve the required project outcomes.
  • Manage designs processes and ensure implimentation on site.
  • Monitor project progress including the analysis of resource levels;
  • Manage project from initial design development stages through to project completion and handover, with specific responsibility for programme, cost, quality, the environment and health & safety.
  • Working on a range of projects in a variety of piling systems for both local and international clients varying from 2-3 weeks to 6-12 months and across a number of concurrent projects
  • Working closely with the Company Management team
  • Attend and contribute to internal meetings, working with colleagues to update on progress/projections etc

Key requirements;

  • Highly motivated individual capable of working individually and in close collaboration with others as appropriate
  • A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in civil engineering or construction
  • Will have detailed contracts experience particularly with the full suite of NEC contracts including frameworks and JCT.
  • Relevant, demonstrable Project/Programme experience
  • Ideally; experience of working on major projects on both a short term and long term basis
  • Degree educated or suitable experience
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to communicate effectively at a senior level both internally and with clients
  • Highly IT literate particularly with Microsoft Project, Primevera P6 and other similar project management software.

Desirable;

  • CSR/CSCS Qualification or equivalent
  • Piling experience
  • Setting out experience
  • Microsoft Project experience
  • Experience of using AutoCAD or other equivalent software 
  • Design experience using programes such as FREW.

  • Assist in managing the projects Master Programme, ensuring that all activities, events and milestones are logically linked;

  • Manage project from initial design development stages through to project completion and handover, with specific responsibility for Project/Programme Control.
  • Working on a range of  projects for both local and international clients varying from 2-3 months to 6-12 months and across a number of concurrent projects

The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive;

  • Work with and report directly to the Contracts Director/Manager in charge.
  • Work in collaboration with individual site management teams to achieve the required project outcomes.
  • Manage project costs from initial design development stages through to project completion and handover, with specific responsibility for Project/Revenue/Cost Control.
  • Working on a range of  projects for both local and international clients varying from 2-3 months to 6-12 months and across a number of concurrent projects
  • Working closely with clients throughout the duration of the projects and advising/updating as required
  • Working closely with the Site Management team to negotiate additional costs and variations
  • Monitoring projects on an ongoing basis to ensure costs and work in progress figures are accurate and in line with projections
  • Attend client meetings on a regular basis throughout the various projects
  • Attend and contribute to internal meetings, working with colleagues to update on progress/costings/revenue projections etc.

Key requirements;

  • Highly motivated individual capable of working individually and in close collaboration with others as appropriate
  • A minimum of 3-5 years relevant experience as a QS/ Measurement Engineer within an Engineering or Construction environment
  • Will have detailed contracts experience particularly with the full suite of NEC contracts including frameworks and JCT.
  • Relevant, demonstrable Project/Programme/Revenue/Cost Control experience
  • Ideally; experience of working on major projects on both a short term and long term basis
  • Degree educated
  • Strong numerical skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to communicate effectively at a senior level both internally and with clients
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience
  • Highly IT literate particularly with Microsoft Project, Primevera P6 and other similar project management software.
