Secant Shaft Installed for Yorkshire Water
Our 12.5m diameter hard/hard secant shaft excavated to level for Yorkshire Water and Barhale in Pocklington. Piles are design using hoop stress to allow a 10m deep excavation to be unpropped. The secant shaft solution was used due to the high water table and loose gravels and our Cased CFA System produced vertical tolerances of greater than 1:150
Coffee Morning a Great Success for Macmillan
A scene from this mornings Macmillan Coffee Morning at our head office (held one week late to allow our bakers time to perfect their offerings). The morning was a great success and raised over £300 to help Macmillan provide support to those affected by cancer.
DAWSON-WAM operators take part in NI Plant Operator of the Year
Thanks to Brian Rice and Adrian Woods for representing DAWSON-WAM at the heats for NI Plant Operator of the Year. Industry Training Scheme (ITS) has teamed up with JCB and Plant and Civil Engineer to launch the inaugural search for Northern Ireland’s best plant operator. Operators from across the industry will compete in a bid to be recognised as the best in their field, with the best entrants competing head-to-head at the finals towards the end of October. Back to School (Again!) for Kier in Peterborough
One of our ABI TM22 installing Cased CFA piles yesterday in Peterborough for Kier. The soils consisted of stiff clay with very hard limestone bands. The works are part of the expansion of Ormiston Bushfield Academy.
