Piling at Glasgow Subway System Complete.. And other news!
Glasgow Subway system
We recently completed the piling for the Operational Control Centre for the Glasgow Subway system in the Govan area of the city. Piles were installed up to 22m through deep layers of soft clay, through layers of gravels and into the underlying stiff clay using our RTG RG25S. Works were completed for GRAHAM Group and is part of an overall £288 million programme that the company are supporting to modernisation Glasgow’s subway and bus station network.
St Edwards School Quad Project
Piling has commenced on the St Edward School Quad project in Oxford where we are installing secant walls and load bearing pile for a fantastic new development being constructed by main contractor Gilbert-Ash.

Killyhevlin Water Treatment Works
DAWSON-WAM have begun work on the extension to the Killyhevlin Water Treatment Works in Enniskillen, Co. Fermanagh. The works include a new 15.5 megalitre reinforced concrete tank, and two new pumping stations as well a large scope of ancillary works. The photograph shows the piling works being undertaken by in-house Cased CFA rigs that are installing bearing piles and secant walls in very weak soils.
M6 J2-4 Smart Motorway Project
DAWSON-WAM have completed all the minor structures piling for Balfour Beatty VINCI on the M6 J2-4 Smart Motorway Project. Having previously completed the sheet piling package for the works, the site team were awarded this foundations package which required fabricated steel plunge sections to be installed into rotary bored concrete piles in isolated locations throughout the 22km stretch of motorway
