Works Complete in Strabane
We have completed a new £1.2 Million pumping station at Bridge Street, Strabane for NI Water. Well done to Gerard McColgan, Adam McKeown and team for the successful delivery of the project. The new pumping station replaces the old station which was built in the 1980s and includes additional storage capacity to help reduce the risk of flooding and cater for future development in the local area. The scheme will also improve the water quality in the local River Mourne, with additional screening installed to improve the quality of any flows that may discharge to the river. Secant Tank Successfully Installed for Yorkshire Water
We have recently installed a new secant wall for a storm attenuation tank in Mexborough, South Yorkshire for Yorkshire Water. The secant wall allowed a 6m retained height and was installed through saturated sands and gravels and into strong sandstone to provide soil retention and water cut off. Piles were constructed in hard/hard configuration with Cased CFA techniques.
This link shows four panoramic views from above and inside the secant tank. The thin black black silt layer can be seen imprinted on the secant piles and shows where the interface between the sand and gravels and the sandstone.
