Curtain Opens On Londons Latest Hotel
With the opening of ‘The Curtain’ this month we thought it was about time that we at DAWSON-WAM highlighted our history of working in some of London’s most prestigious and best rated hotels.
The Curtain is Michael Achenbaum’s and the Gansevoort Group first venture into Europe having had huge success with their hotels in New York’s Meatpacking District and thereafter in the Caribbean. Shoreditch’s newest hotel promises to be a high end hub for creative entrepreneurs and while including the Gansevoort trademark rooftop pool and terrace with sliding roof.
DAWSON-WAM installed secant piles and settlement relieving piles to allow a 3 storey basement to be constructed in close proximity to neighbouring structure. Find out more HERE.
We have no doubt that The Curtain will be a huge success and rank as high as the other hotel projects DAWSON-WAM have been involved with in London. A quick look at TripAdvisor will tell you that the ‘The Beaumont’, ‘The Connaught’ and the ‘Ham Yard Hotel’ rank comfortably in the top 5% with The Beaumont and The Connaught siting at #4 and #6 respectively in all of London.
The Beaumont Hotel
The Beaumont Hotel, the AA Hotel of the Year 2016/17, is a fantastic 5 star hotel in London’s Mayfair. DAWSON-WAM constructed a secant walled basement in close proximity to neighbouring structures on all 4 sides.
The Connaught Hotel
The Connaught Hotel is a wonderfully luxurious 5 star accommodation in the heart of London’s Mayfair. DAWSON-WAM constructed a secant walled basement and propping to allow a 12m deep basement to be constructed to facilitate the extension to the West Wing. Find out more HERE.
The Ham Yard Hotel
The Ham Yard Hotel is the newest of the Firmdale stable of hotels, Ham Yard is a light-filled, spacious new build in an 'urban village' setting at the bottom of Regent Street, perfectly placed for Mayfair and Soho. DAWSON-WAM constructed a secant wall, capping beam and propping to allow a 10m deep basement to be constructed in an extremely tight site. Find out more HERE.
